About 2/3 of the way down you'll see Send To Click on that and then click on Desktop (create shortcut). There's a strong chance that QBs will try and launch other exe files that won't run in Win10, but it's worth a shot. Click Apply and then close the Properties box.ĭouble click on the the QBs exe file and see what happens. Chick the box to Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and then choose Windows 7. When you find the file, Right Click and choose Properties then Compatibility. Depending upon if you have Pro or not it will be something like QBW32Pro.exe, QBW32.exe, QBW.exe. Not sure of the naming for QB2008, but you're looking for the main. Then go to the program directory for QBs (probably: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2008). On your desktop, delete or rename the QBs shortcut.
Just move it someplace safe to have a full copy. Put it in another folder, the desktop, USB drive or wherever you want. FIRST, go copy your QB data folder just to be safe.
Running QBs for 10-11 years is a pretty good run on a software program.īut if you have the time and really want to give it a shot, you can try Win10's Compatibility Mode to see if you can get access to your files. As BRC said, an upgrade would be your best bet.
